New Albany Hosting Meeting About McDonald Lane Improvements

The City of New Albany is hosting a public meeting from 6:30-8 p.m. tomorrow (August 20) at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 1725 Scheller Lane in New Albany, to discuss construction plans for McDonald Lane.

The project will reconstruct McDonald Lane, replace existing pavement and adding a storm sewer system using curbs and inlets. In addition, a new sidewalk will be added with a multi-use pat (for walking and biking) and some safety improvements will be added. There are also plans for two roundabouts (one at McDonald Lane and Hickoryvale Drive and another at McDonald Lane and Oxford Drive.

The open-house sessions will provide residents the opportunity to make comments on the designs, receive information about the project and talk to officials about the plans. In addition, residents can view prelimary plans at these locations:
  • City of New Albany offices, 311 Hauss Square, Room 325 in the City-County Building.
  • New Albany-Floyd County Library, 180 W. Spring St.
  • Bernardin, Lochmueller and Associates office, 61 Quartermaster Court in Jeffersonville.
